What the visit includes

  • Sourcing a tire or a full set to match your vehicle size and use
  • Delivery to where the vehicle is parked, at no separate trip
  • Mounting and fitting on the same visit
  • Old tires taken away rather than left with you

What to have ready

  • The tire size from the sidewall — a photo of it is enough
  • Whether you need one tire or a full set
  • How long you plan to keep the vehicle, which changes what is worth buying

Where do I find my tire size?

It is moulded into the sidewall of the tire itself, as a string like 225/65R17 or 205/55R16. There is also a sticker inside the driver door frame listing the sizes the vehicle was built for, along with the correct cold inflation pressures. If the current tires were fitted by someone else, the door sticker is the more reliable of the two — cars do turn up on sizes that were never intended for them. A phone photo of either is all we need.

Are used tires worth buying?

Sometimes, and it depends on what the car has left to do. A used tire with genuinely good tread is a reasonable choice for a vehicle being sold soon, a second car that does short trips, or replacing one damaged tire on an otherwise healthy set. It is a poor choice for the car doing a daily 401 commute through winter. What matters is remaining tread depth, age, and even wear — we tell you what we are actually looking at rather than what is easier to sell.

Do all four tires need replacing at once?

Not always, but they should at least match across an axle. Two different tread patterns or two very different wear depths on the same axle change how the car behaves under braking and in standing water, which is exactly when you need it to behave predictably. On all-wheel-drive vehicles the tolerance is tighter still — some drivetrains are damaged by a meaningful circumference difference between wheels, so those often do need a full set.

Common questions

Can you supply tires for my vehicle the same day?

It depends entirely on the size, since common passenger sizes are far easier to source quickly than less usual SUV and light truck fitments. Call Jang Mobile Tire Service on 437-788-3377 with the size from your sidewall and we will tell you honestly what can be there quickly and what needs ordering in.

Do you take the old tires away?

Yes. Jang Mobile Tire Service removes the tires being replaced as part of the visit, so you are not left with four of them in a garage or at the kerb. If you want to keep a set — a usable winter set, for instance — say so when booking and we will stack them wherever you want them instead.

How do I know whether a used tire is safe?

Three things decide it: remaining tread depth, the age stamped on the sidewall, and whether the wear across the tread is even. A tire can have plenty of tread and still be too old to trust, because rubber hardens with age regardless of use. Jang Mobile Tire Service checks all three and will say when a used tire is not worth fitting.
